Advanced Specialist Certificate in Language Assessment

It was really a very wonderful opportunity for me  to attend one of the outstanding courses in SEAMEO RELC Singapore. The course was Advanced Specialist Certificate in Language Assessment. This course is specially designed for language instructors and assessors who are interested in understanding and applying both assessment for learning (AfL) and assessment of learning (AoL) within the context of their respective institution’s English language syllabuses or courses. It will raise their awareness and appreciation of how AfL complements AoL in language assessment.

We had two kind  and friendly facilitators....Ms. Marie Yeo for Assessment of Learning  and Mr. Kenneth Richter for Assessment for Learning. 

The aims of the course are as follows:

1. understand the key concepts, principles and practices of language assessment of learning and for learning;
2. identify and design test specification for AfL and AoL in alignment with specific language syllabuses/ courses; 
3. construct reliable, valid and practical types and modes of AfL and AoL;
4. analyse, intepret and use data from and results of AfL to provide informed and constructive  feedback to help improve students’ language learning;
5. evaluate and appraise both AfL and AoL that are currently used in their institution.

 There were 21 participants in that Course: Brunai (2), Indonesia (2), Myanmar (8), Singapore (4), Thailand (3), Vietnam (10, Cambodia (1)

And to get the certificate, course participant are required to evidently demonstrate and apply all the key principles and concepts learned in the course by designing and building an assessment of and for learning relevant to their respective institution or organization

Formative assessment (2 assignment ) : 60 % 

Written Examination (essay)                   : 40 %

GORESAN TANGAN NANDA VANIA QURRATU AINI

Sebenarnya saat dia TK aku sudah melihat potensinya di dunia menggambar walaupun masih dalam taraf mewarnai. Aku saat itu hanya memfasilitasi dengan mendukungnya ikut beberapa kegiatan mewarnai dan menang ato kalah bukanlah sasaran, yang penting dia suka dan menikmati kegiatan itu.

Setelah masuk SD, jujur aku tidak begitu memperhatikan minatnya di menggambar, karena sekarang dia lebih suka membaca dan gemar menceritakan apa yang sudah dibacanya padaku. Komik CONAN dan cerita detektif lainnya adalah favoritnya.
Baru kemarin saja, sejak dia duduk dibangku SMP, aku menemukan beberapa goresan tangannya yang sudah dia pajang di papan tulis di kamarnya. dan aku terhenyak "Benarkah ini goresan tangannya???"

Setidaknya kini sudah kutemukan salah satu minatnya, tinggal aku berusaha mendorongnya memupuk minat itu. Dia bilang dia ingin sekali melihat musium komik di Jepang...haduuuuh Naak semoga ibumu ini mampu mengajakmu berkunjung ke tempat itu yaaaaa....Aamiin YRA....
